WHAT IS TEXAS SCHOOL?
Arguably the best value for photographers in the country, once a year for one week in the spring, Texas School is your chance to come and learn hands-on with me every single day for a week as part of a small group limited to 25 people.
But there are other instructors there as well, so you get the one of the biggest trade shows in the country, along with big nightly events for everyone. You’ll meet photographers from all over the country, make new friends, meet and chat with other instructors, attend fun dinners and events at night, shoot live models, and get hands-on instruction.
HOW & WHEN TO REGISTER
My class always sells out, sometimes literally in minutes. Registration opens in hours, on Jan. 3rd, 2013 – 11pm (Texas time). There is a count-down clock with specific registration details at TexasSchool.org.
The exact dates of Texas School are April 28th, – May 3th, 2013, and it’s held at the InterContinental Hotel and Conference Center, 15201 Dallas Parkway, Dallas Tx. 75001.
WHAT AM I TEACHING?
I focus on three parts of your business that need to all work together: (1) Perfect and exquisite lighting created on purpose with any light source, (2) super fast production behind the scenes, (3) and a specific strategy for pricing and sales so that you can continue to survive and thrive as a photographer.
So for part I, we will work with live models and learn how to use flashes, strobes, umbrellas, soft boxes, reflectors and even natural light to perfectly light people right. I’ll show you the three areas of a woman that you must light just right, and when you do, you won’t have to retouch your images.
In part II, we’ll use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop in the fastest ways I know. I’m an Adobe software partner and know some of the best tricks and systems in the industry, and will be sharing with you what I feel are the fastest ways to get your images in and out of the software fast, as well as how to have fun and take your images further creatively.
In part III, we’ll analyze my system of pricing and selling. It does no good to create great images if you can’t make a living selling them, so we’ll talk about how to handle objections and concerns and how to set good boundaries using these new methods.
So again, all three of these parts need to work together, and we will break them down and go through them all for an entire week at Texas School this spring. No matter where you feel you are strong or weak, when we go through these areas together and really spend some time perfecting the pieces, you’ll return home with new eyes, new skills, and a new perspective on your business.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
“Celebrity Style Imaging” is the trademarked name of my studio because I photograph my day-to-day clients the same way I photograph my VIP clients, focusing on exquisite lighting, emotion, and individual character.
Together at Texas School, we will go step-by-step through my entire system, helping you be more creative, more competent, more efficient, and more profitable. We will go through specific camera and lighting set-ups, so that you can create a perfect match of lighting and exposure for any situation from daylight to sunset on into twilight and total darkness.
On top of that we’ll work with live models as I show you how to get real emotion, believable expressions, and new poses that flatter and change from shoot to shoot. No longer will you be shooting the same thing, over and over again.
We will use off-camera lighting, studio lighting, reflectors, and even creative solutions that sculpt your clients without excuse and make them look great, whether it be on location, in a studio, in broad daylight, or at night.
Then we will take the images further with digital enhancement as I will work with full disclosure on what I do, in front of everyone. I will show you how to be faster on the computer, taking the “work” out of “workflow.” I feel that time spent on the computer should be an investment into your sales instead of time wasted correcting images.
And finally, we’ll end with my specific and adaptable sales presentation so that you’ll see just how to get the most for each portrait session while not being pushy and keeping the client’s needs first.
